Robert Humphrey Sr.

Mr. Robert W. Humphrey, Sr., age 66, of La Porte, Ind., died 12:04 PM Saturday, October 14, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born April 29, 1940 in Rossville GA to the late Franklin Humphrey and Betty Harris Humphrey. He has lived in the LaPorte area for the last 47 years coming from Rossville, GA. Mr. Humphrey was employed as a Welder Fabricator by New York Blower for 30 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His family was his life. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. He loved fishing Hunting and NASCAR and was a former member of Teamsters Local 135. On March 5, 1964 in Toulon, IL he married Nellie Brown who survives. He is also survived by his Mother Mrs. Betty Humphrey of LaPorte; Two Daughters, Mrs. Kelly Randy Neirynck of Plymouth, Ind., Miss Ashley Humphrey of La Porte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Charles Tammy Humphrey of Walkerton, Ind., Mr. Robert W. Humphrey, Jr. of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Sherman W. Humphrey of La Porte, Ind.; Ten grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren; One Sister, Mrs. Betty Watson of La Porte, Ind.; Two Brothers, Mr. Lamar Humphrey of Hamlet, Ind., Mr. Frank Humphrey of La Porte, Ind. He is preceded in death by his Father, One Son, Ricky Humphrey and One Brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2006 and from the Calvary Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Funeral service will be at Calvary Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2006, Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
