Robert Hindsley

Robert D. Hindsley May 31, 1930-June 13, 2017 Mr. Robert D. Hindsley, 87, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born May 31, 1930 in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late Lloyd and Bessie (Marks) Hindsley. Robert was a member of the LaPorte American Legion Post #83, and St. Paul's Men's Club. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, yard work and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's baseball games. On October 17, 1953, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Darlene (Schoof) Hindsley who survives in Walkerton. He is also survived by his two sons, Lance (Lori) Hindsley of La Porte, IN, Todd (Kathy) Hindsley of La Porte, IN; five grandchildren, Nick (Melissa) Hindsley, Blake (Mandy) Hindsley, Brad Hindsley, Amanda (Tony) Martin, Kjia (Craig) Woodcox; two great-grandchildren, Tucker Hindsley, and Gavin McAllister. He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Oakley, and one brother, James Hindsley. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, June 17, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Galloway officiating. Burial of Ashes will be held at a later date in the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana.
