Robert J. Allshouse Jr. Jan. 16, 1962 - Jan. 18, 2018 Robert J. Allshouse Jr., 56 of La Porte, IN passed away peacefully at his home overlooking Pine Lake on Jan. 18, 2018. Although cancer won the year-long battle, Bob's unwavering sense of humor and joyful spirit won the war. He was born on Jan. 16, 1962 in Trenton, New Jersey to Robert J. Allshouse Sr. and Carol Allshouse Michaels. Bob was employed by U.S. Steel as a Control Room Operator for 29 years. The loves of his life were his wife Sandy, his family, his friends, and his life on the lake. Bob was the beloved husband of Sandy Allshouse. He was a loving father to seven children Robert III, Ryan (Brittany), Aaron (Stephie), Susan, Stephanie, Jeff (Alisha), and Kevin. Bob cherished his grandchildren Hailey, Ryder, Cayden, Emma Ezra, Caleb, Remi, Willoh, and Axel. He is survived by is adoring mother and step father Carol and Dick Michaels; two sisters Sue (Bob) Quinn and Deb Tarkane and many dear aunts, uncles cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob met Sister Benedicta at a cancer center and sense then she has become a great friend who introduced him to his Catholic faith. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Allshouse Sr. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A life celebration will follow at the funeral home at 5:00 pm with Father William O'Toole officiating. Interment will be held Monday Jan. 22, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Chesterton Cemetery in Chesterton, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the to the family of Robert Allshouse.
