Robby Barnes

Mr. Robby R. Barnes, age 74, of La Porte, Ind., died 1:27 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte, Ind. He was born September 14, 1932 in Blytheville, Ark. to the late Roy Barnes and the late Freddie Russell Barnes. He has lived in the LaPorte area for the last 30 years coming from Ark. Mr. Barnes was employed by Indiana State Prison as a corrections officer for the last 27 years. He was a member of Harvest Time Church of God. He was also a Veteran of US Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He loved farming and animals. On January 21, 1956 in Michigan City, Ind. he married Edith Dobkowski who pas preceded in death. He is survived by his Daughter Mrs. Debbie Darryl Duncan of Michigan City, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Timothy Tami Barnes of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Greg Barnes of Bay City, Texas; Seven grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; One Sister, Mrs. Shirley Liles of Michigan City, Ind.; Four Brothers, Mr. Jack Beverly Barnes of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Ralph Lee Barnes of Tampa, Fla., Mr. Richard Ray Sharon Barnes of Florida, and Mr. Carlos W. Glenda Barnes of Michigan City, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2007.
