Richard Trubey

Richard A. Trubey, 85, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at his home. He was born September 29, 1925 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Albert Trubey and Lauretta (Dadlow) Trubey. Richard worked as a tool & die/product designer for Torrington Bearing Co, retiring in 1985 and also worked for Holbert Engineering, retiring 1991. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ South Bend; IN. Richard was an US Navy Veteran during WW II, serving in South Pacific, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. He was a member American Legion Post 303 of Mishawaka, Howard Park Senior's Club and Chippewa Fun Club. Richard was a LaPorte High School graduate, Class of 1944, playing varsity football. He attended the University of Valparaiso. Richard graduated from Acme School Tool and Die in 1953. Richard was an avid bowler. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, card playing, traveling, gardening and billiards. On May 21, 1955, in LaPorte, IN, he married Alice Grace (Martin) Trubey who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters - Karen (Chris) Ensing of South Bend, IN, Donna (Steven) Horvath of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren - Anne (Cory) Givens of North Liberty, IN, Andrew (Maggie) Ensing of Madison, WI, Kelly Horvath of South Bend, IN, Matthew Horvath of South Bend, IN; two great grandchildren- Harryson Givens, Alora Givens, and one sister - Sandra J. Severs of La Porte, IN. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A Private family visitation will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 am,CST with a Private Service to follow at 11:00 am CST with Pastor Scott Bowie officiating. A Military Service will be conducted at the cemetery. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ 715 E.
