Richard Sarvis

Mr. Richard W. Sarvis, age 72, of La Porte, Ind., died 4:00 PM Sunday, January 14, 2007, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born November 7, 1934 in Indianapolis, Ind. to the late Wayne Sarvis Sr. and the late Edith Haseman Sarvis. He lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. Mr. Sarvis was employed by Stor-Rite of Michigan City and retired in 1996. He loved camping, spending time with grandkids and was a loving husband and father. He passed away at his home surrounded by his family. On July 28, 1964 in Lake Co. Ind. he married Linda Fields who survives. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. Barbara E. Schultz of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; Son, Mr. Richard W. Sarvis, Jr. of La Porte, Ind.; Four grandchildren, Blaine Daniel Schultz, Joshua Wayne Schultz, Jacob Lee Schultz, Frankie Ann Nevelyn Sarvis; Seven Sisters, Mrs. Donna Robbins of Anderson, Ind., Mrs. Velvia Randolph of Anderson, Ind., Mrs. Reta Robinson of Anderson, Ind., Karla Sarvis of Anderson, Ind., Mrs. Barbara DeMott of Florida, Mrs. Norma Wolfe of Virginia, Mrs. Peggy Waggoner of Terre Haute, Ind.; Three Brothers, Mr. Terry Sarvis of Anderson, Ind., Mr. Wayne Sarvis, Jr. of Anderson, Ind., Mr. Dennis Sarvis of Calioka, Tenn. He is preceded in death by his parents and Two Brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2007 and from 9:00 AM Thursday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 18, 2007, Rev. David Hager officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
