Richard Kline

Richard W. Kline, 75, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Friday July 15, 2011 at his home. He was born February 19, 1936 in Magercoil, Travan Core, India, the son of Rev. Norman W. Kline and Alma (Seiler) Kline. Richard worked for Bendix Corp and United Tractor Mfg. in Chesterton, IN, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Michigan City, VFW, American Legion Post #37, DAV, and Fraternal Order of Police, all of Michigan City, Indiana. He was a US Veteran of the Navy during Vietnam. Richard enjoyed working on cars and going fishing. On July 19, 1958, in LaPorte, IN, he married Arnieta (Schoof) Kline who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters - Roberta (Joseph) Merrion of Michigan City, IN, Deborah (Frank) Patacsil of Logansport, IN; four grandchildren - Jacob Patacsil, Sam Patacsil, Tara Kline, Benjamin Merrion; two sisters - Phyllis (Jack) Haberman of Virginia Beach, VA, Lois Kline of North Olmsted, OH, and one brother - Norman Kline of Parker, CO. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Kline. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 12:30 pm, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 1:30 pm with Rev. David Albertin officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, IN.
