Richard Downey

Mr. Richard G. Downey, 35, of 108 Cedar Drive, Walkerton Fish Lake, Indiana passed away Sunday August 22, 2004 at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana. He had lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. Born March 6, 1969 in LaPorte to Chester and Barbara J. Long Downey Maglio. He had worked for P.M. Fabrication as a welder for five years and also a carpenter for many years. Mr. Downey was a member of F.O.E. of LaPorte #2439. He is survived by his father; Chester Jean Downey of Walkerton, Indiana, Mother; Barbara J. Majlio of Michigan City, Indiana, two sons; Eric Downey of LaPorte, Indiana and Derek Hancock of North Carolina, Step-Grandmother; Marge Downey of Valparaiso, Indiana, two sisters; Lisa Downey and Becky Chuck Johnson both of LaPorte, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 26, 2004 at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
