Richard Bohne

Mr. Richard E. Bohne, Sr., 70, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday September 1, 2009 at his home, in La Porte. He was born September 26, 1938 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the son of Arthur Bohne and Anna Schuck Bohne. He had lived in LaPorte for nine years, coming from Lakeside, Mich. Richard worked in maintenance for Howmet Corp. for many years, he also worked at Clark Equip. /Brown Trailer Division in Benton Harbor, Mich. He was a member of New Buffalo Rod and Gun Club. Richard was an avid gardener, he enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, woodworking, and won several trophies in black powder competition. On July 16, 1960, he married Judith James, who survives, and then on November 14, 2003, in Morristown, TN, he was re- married to Jo Calahan Bohne who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Roxanne Bohne-Rambo of Stevensville, MI; two step-sons, Chad McCleery of LaPorte, IN. and Jason McCleery of LaPorte, IN; one grandchild, Alexa Rambo of Stevensville, MI; one step-grandaughter, Sierra McCleery of LaPorte, IN. and his beloved dog "Girl". Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Bohne, Jr.; two sisters, Charlotte Luhrsen, Loretta Krause and one brother, Ronald Bohne. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 12:00 pm CST - 2:00 pm CST. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday September 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM cst. Interment will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside, Michigan.
