Richard Bennethum

Mr. Richard H. Bennethum, age 67, of Michigan City, Ind., died Monday, December 1, 2008, at his residence, in Michigan City, Ind. He was born on January 24, 1941 in Indianapolis, Ind. to the late Donald Bennethum and the late France Jahns Bennethum. Mr. Bennethum was employed by American Home Foods and also worked at the Westville Correctional Center as a dispatcher. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Richard loved to joke with people; he enjoyed all sports; football and baseball.... On October 13, 2001 in Michigan City, Ind. he married Romona Seibert, who survives. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Romona Bennethum of LaPorte, Ind.; One Daughter, Dawn Hall of Raytown, Mo.; Two grandchildren and One great-grandchild; Two Sisters, Elaine Bennethum of Scotch Plains, N.J., France Watts Tom of Brentwood, Tenn.; Friend, Glenn Silver of Michigan City, Ind. and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, David Bennethum Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, December 5, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Friday, December 5, 2008 with Pastor Rodrick Hoffman, officiating. Cremation will take place.
