Reginald Wise

Reginald W. Wise, 88, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Golden Living Center-Countryside. He was born March 13, 1922 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of William Wise and Kathryn Schrader Wise. Reginald worked in assembly for Allis-Chalmers, retiring after thirty-seven years of service. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. A Veteran of the US Army during WWII, member of VFW Post #1130 and the American Legion Post #83 both of LaPorte. On March 8, 1947, in Michigan City, IN, he married Marjorie J. Hibner Wise who preceded him in death March 26, 1993. He is survived by his two sons - Frederick Wise of La Porte, IN, Reginald Kay Wise II of Almagordo, NM; six grandchildren - Mathew Wise, Harley Bryant, Cody Bryant, Jennifer Kimery, Kathy Wise, Becky Bates; four great-grandchildren, and one sister Marcile Kerman of La Porte, IN. Reginald was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 10:00 am, until time of services at the St. John Lutheran Church. Services will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Wednesday September 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Reginald W. Wise.
