Mr. Raymond M. Stombaugh, Jr., age 82, of South Bend, IN, died Thursday, November 17, 2005, at Hospice House in South Bend, IN.He was born June 10, 1923, in New Carlisle, Indiana, to Raymond Stombaugh, Sr. and Dorothy Nickerson Stombaugh, who has preceded. Also preceded in death are three sisters, Violia Rainey, Wilma Enders, Jane Grove, one brother, Wilbur Stombaugh. Mr. Stombaugh has lived most of his life in the LaPorte County area. On August 29, 1945, he was married to Ruth Nickerson, who survives. He Served in the. U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the VFW Post #9423 of Rolling Prairie, IN., loved to do wood-working, sports of all kinds, loved gardening, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, avid family man. surviving his is wife Mrs. Ruth Nickerson Stombaugh, Jr.; of South Bend, IN, One Son, Mr. Douglas Janine Stombaugh of Rolling Prairie, IN, One Daughter, Mrs. Patty Mancuk of Michigan City, IN, Six Sisters, Mrs. Deanie Ebanks of Oceano, Calif, Mrs. Margaret Simpson of New Carlisle, IN, Mrs. Minnie Bennitt of Bremen, IN, Mrs. Beverly Grey of Redlands, Calif, Mrs. Reva Giles of Las Vegas, Nev, Mrs. Elaine Lathrop of Kouts, IN, One Brother, Mr. Miller Joanne Stombaugh of South Bend, IN, Mr. Stombaugh has Six grandchildren and Eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday, November 21, 2005. A Memorial Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Monday, November 21, 2005 , with Rev. Irv Young officiating.
