Ray Johnson

Mr. Ray D. Johnson, 65, of 4010 A. Nordway Rd., Kingsford Heights, IN, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. at his home. He was born June 6, 1939 in LaPorte, IN., to George and Ruby Utterbach Johnson, and lad lived in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Johnson worked for the LaPorte Waste Water Treatment Plant for 30 year and retired in 1992. He was veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, playing pool and watching the Cubs. On March 11, 1962 in LaPorte, he married Irene Koepke, who preceded in death Feb. 4, 1992. Also preceded in death are his father; two sisters, Irene Johnson, Frankie Clanton; three brothers, Ed. Johnson, Richard Johnson, Roy Johnson; and one half-brother, Bob Johnson. Surviving are one son, Calvin Michelle Johnson of Kingsford Heights, IN.; his mother, Ruby Johnson of LaPorte; two brothers, George Johnson and Rodger Johnson both of LaPorte; three sisters, Arlene Staniszewski of LaPorte, Patricia Jackson of Madison, WI., Donna Pierce of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Shiana Johnson and Austin Johnson. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Jack M. Cox officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. Cremation will follow and burial of ashes will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Ray D.
