Ray Butts

Mr. Ray G. Butts, 72, of Kingsbury, Indiana, died Tuesday September 29, 2009 at University of Chicago Hospital. He was born November 15, 1936 in Monet, Arkansas, the son of William Bryan Butts and June Paden Butts. Before retiring, Ray was self-employed doing parking lot maintenance. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Ray enjoyed watching cowboy movies and listening to country music. He was a very hard worker and loved to travel. On December 11, 2004, on a Florida Cruise Ship, he married Peggy Wheeler, who survives. He is also survived by his one son, Mark Butts of LaPorte, IN; one daughter, Tina Bernacchi of Monticello, IN; two step-children, Jamie Fee of South Bend, IN, Chad Tina White of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Paden Kentaft of LaPorte, IN, Andrea Brit Schoonover of Westville, IN, Erin Jon Neblung of LaPorte, IN, Mark Anthony Butts of LaPorte, IN; three step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Paden Butts, W.B. Butts, Kenneth Butts and one sister, Juanita. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Sunday, October 04, 2009 from 11:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Sunday October 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Minister John Haferkamp, officiating. Burial will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
