Ransom Ebersole

Ransom E. Ebersole, 95, of New Carlisle, IN, died Wednesday August 3, 2011 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. He was born June 6, 1916 in Elkhart, Indiana, the son of Edward Ebersole and Maude (Heminger) Ebersole. Ransom had lived in New Carlisle, IN since 1969, coming from Greenville, Ohio. Ransom was a graduate of the Cincinnati Bible Seminary; he has had ministries in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennesse, Arkansas, Mississippi and Indiana. He was the minister for the Prairie Garden Christian Fellowship Church for twenty years, retiring in 1989. Ransom was an avid golfer and gardener. He loved people and loved God. On November 15, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio he married Bea (Smith) Ebersole, who preceded on May 27, 1986. In June of 1987 in New Carlisle, IN., he married Ruth (Hennen) Ebersole, who preceded April 1996. He is survived by his 2 daughters - Valinda (Stephen) Westman of Westville, IN, Judy (John) Cox of South Bend, IN; son - Ransom (Sharon) Ebersole of Rolling Prairie, IN; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 2 brothers - Robert Ebersole of Bourbon, IN, Floyd Ebersole of South Bend, IN, and a sister - Evelyn Hacker of South Bend, IN. Ransom was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and six brothers, Everett, Russell, Wilbur, Carl, Clarence, and Walter. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, August 5, 2011 from 4:00 pm CDT, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday August 5, 2011 at 6:30 pm CDT with Rev. Ransom Ebersole officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 am CDT on Monday, August 8, 2011, at the New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, IN.
