R. Williams

Mr. R. George Williams, 84, of 422 Kenwood St., LaPorte, Indiana died 3:31 p.m., Monday March 8, 2004, at LaPorte Hospital. Mr. Williams was born May 17, 1919, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Jesse and Verta Chaplinski Williams. He had lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. On October 4, 1945, in LaPorte, he married Mary van Walter who preceded September 9, 1996. He worked for the Berkel Corporation as a tool & die maker for forty years, retiring in 1984. Mr. Williams was a life member of the Yacht Club. Surviving are one son; Larry Rita Williams of LaPorte, one daughter; Linda Terry Campbell of Monticello, Indiana, one granddaughter; Dawn Daily, and one grandson; Robert Daily, and two great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Ray Williams. Services will be Friday, March 12, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. David Sickelka officiating. Friends may call Thursday March 11, 2004, at the Haverstock Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 8 p.m. till time of service. Burial will take place at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
