Phyllis Jannsen

Mrs. Phyllis A. Jannsen, of 7601 North 425 East, Rolling Prairie, died Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 9:45 P.M. at LaPorte Hospital after an extended illness. She was born March 18, 1927 in LaPorte to Russell and Thelma Riley. She graduated from Rolling Prairie High School in 1945 after also completing grammar school there. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Rolling Prairie where she was the pianist for years before marrying Robert C. Jannsen there 59 years ago on December 2, 1945. In her final years she remained an active and devoted member of that church. She returned to Indiana in 1998 after raising her children in Chicago. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Robert and three children; Dawn Elaine Jannsen of Herrin, Illinois; Roberta K. Jannsen Don Maveety of Oak Park, Illinois; John Beth Jannsen of Beverly Shores; one brother, Robert Riley of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte on Friday, May 20th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A private family graveside service will take place in Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Ransom Ebersole presiding. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at First Christian Church in Rolling Prairie. Memorial gifts may be given to First Christian Church.
