Mr. Paul L. Newlon, 92, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Monday, January 16, 2006, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle. He was born in Salem, Indiana, on June 22, 1913 and had been a resident of LaPorte since 1937. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and a faithful servant of the Lord. Mr. Newlon retired from Joy Manufacturing Company in Michigan City, Indiana in 1976 after 40 years of employment. He at one time served as president of the Management Club at Joy. He had been a very active member of First United Methodist Church in LaPorte, IN., He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a Scottish Rite 32nd degree mason, and served for six years as chaplain of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the People to People organization in LaPorte, IN., Mr. Newlon was married in 1939 to Phyllis Long who preceded him in death on May 15, 1995. He is survived by three daughters; Carol Dick Clark of The Villages, Florida, Marty Ray Paciorek of Darien, Illinois and Fran Tom Milo of LaPorte, IN., also surviving are six grandchildren; Scott Clark of San Anselmo, CA, Jennifer Vic Baskerville of Birmingham, AL., Matt Ute Paciorek of Bolingbrook, IL., Erica Ken Swanson of Plainfield, IL, Jason Milo of Indianapolis, IN., Ens. Blair Milo of Norfold, VA., He has two great-grandchildren; Lauren and Grant Swanson. Also surviving are his sister, Elizabeth Marshall and one brother; Andrew Newlon both of Pekin, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters; Georgia Newlon and Kathleen Tempel, and three brothers; Glen Newlon, Logan Newlon, Edmund Newlon. The funeral will be Saturday 01/21/2006 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of LaPorte, IN., with the Rev. Douglas Hadley, officiating.Burial will be in the Pine Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at Haverstock Funeral Home on Friday 01/20/2006 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and 10:00 AM Saturday 01/21/2006 at the First United Methodist Church, until time of service. There will be a Masonic Ceremony at 6:45 PM on Friday 01/20/2006 at the Haverstock Funeral Home.
