Paul M. Magley February 15, 1935 - October 23, 2016 Paul M. Magley age 81, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn (nee Olds) Magley; children, Julie (Charles) Smith and Randy Magley; step sons, Daniel Cubel and Rory Cubel; grandchildren, Kara Magley and Zachary Magley; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Alberta Magley, Vona Whorwell and Terry Magley and close and dear friend, Julie Kay Pointon. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ellen Magley; son, Mark Magley; stepson, Kevin Cubel and brothers, Daniel and Wayne Magley. Paul was born and raised in La Porte, IN. He proudly served our country in the US Army in the 11th Calvary Black Horse Regiment and went on to serve in the Army Reserves 60th artillery unit. On November 12, 1960, he married Evelyn Cubel in La Porte, IN. Paul served as the Scout Master for Troop #88 in La Porte, served on the vestry for St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a group leader for the building of the Fort La Play Porte. Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue La Porte, IN with Rev. Paul A. Nesta officiating. Cremation service to follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 3:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
