Paul Killian

Mr. Paul F. Killian, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday April 13, 2010 at his home He was born December 9, 1926 in Columbia City, Indiana, the son of Jacob P. Killian and Thelma L. Leach Killian. Paul lived in the LaPorte area since 1941, coming from Columbia City, Indiana living there fifteen years. Paul worked for Joy Mfg. Co. for twenty-one years, he retired in 1985. Paul was a member of the First Christian Church of LaPorte. A graduate of Purdue University School of Industrial Technology. He was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corp. during WWII. Member of the Excelsior Lodge #41 F & AM, LaPorte Co. Past Masters Association, LaPorte Chapter #15 R.AM, LaPorte Council #32 Cryptic Masons, LaPorte Commandery #12 Knights Templar, Indiana York Rite College #55, Knights of the York Cross of Honor, Orak Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. American Legion Post #83. On June 4, 1949, in LaPorte, IN, he married Charlotte Goebel Killian, who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Brian L. Killian of Marion, IN, Paul B. Killian of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Christine L. Killian of North Judson, IN, Carol A. Prellwitz of North Royalton, OH; five grandchildren, and one sister, LaVonne Creed of LaPorte, IN. Paul was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, April 16, 2010 from 9:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday April 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Everett Shattuck officiating. Cremation will follow. A Masonic Service will be conducted on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
