Paul Hackl, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday August 30, 2023 at Brickyard Care Center-La Porte, IN

He was born August 24, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Paul Edward Hackl and Dorothy Maxine (Jones) Hackl.

After his high school graduation, Paul served in the United States Navy and was proud to serve his duty as a crew member aboard the USS FORRESTAL and went on to work as a meat cutter for Jewel Tea in Illinois. He moved to La Porte 5 years ago from Kentucky so that he could be closer to the grave of his beloved late wife, Victoria, who passed away October 11, 2017.  Paul loved his music and had a large collection of CD's and records from the late 50's and early 60's, plus 4 record players to play them on! He enjoyed classic cars, watching golf on TV and wearing his Navy hat to show his patriotism.

Paul is survived by his sister, Sandra (Frank) Quint of TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Laurelle Miskowicz.of La Porte, IN; good friend, Liliana Ake; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN.  Burial of cremated remains will take place Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10:30 am (CST) in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis, Michigan with the Pastor Jane Anabe of the Presbyterian Church of La Porte officiating.
