Paul W. Cooper October 7, 1924-April 27, 2018 Paul W. Cooper, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at his home in La Porte, Indiana. He was born October 7, 1924 in Bakersfield, Missouri, the son of Arthur Cooper and Sarah (Fore) Cooper. Paul was a 1945 graduate of Gosport High School. He retired in 1980 after 35 years as a machine operator working for Budd Company and Roll Coater. He was also a craftsman; over the years building five ranch homes from the ground up in the La Porte area. He and his wife were longtime members of the Calvery Baptist Church in La Porte. Paul also enjoyed traveling the county with Ruby. On June 21, 1947, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Ruby L. (Adams) Cooper who preceded him in death February 3, 2016. He is survived by his three sons, Paul D. (Carolyn) Cooper, Roger (Cathy) Cooper, Randy (Merry) Cooper; two daughters, Penny (Dennis) Downey, Peggy (Sid) Franklin; twelve grandchildren, Timothy Lindewald, Cim Paddock, Kevin (Angie) Cooper, Annie (Casey) Gasway, Abigail (Matthew) Jessie, Joseph (Christine) Cooper, Dallis Downey, Sarah Senne, Matthew (Jennifer) Senne, Joshua Senne, Elizabeth (Terry) Shockley, Kimberley (Joshua) Harwell; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Wilber, Daisy Szatkowski. Paul was preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers, Nick Cooper and Gene Cooper; two grandchildren, Risa Lindewald and Thomas Lindewald. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Schryer officiating.
