Patricia Hardesty

Mrs. Patricia R. Hardesty, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday January 18, 2010 at her home. She was born March 6, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of Edward Swearingen and Bethel Cavinder Swearingen. Patricia was a homemaker; she also was a co-owner of Bill's Citgo of Michigan City, IN, with her husband. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Michigan City. Patricia was a big Chicago White Sox fan; she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, also enjoyed movies, watching T.V. especially Regis & Kelly. Patricia was a loving grandmother and mother. On June 18, 1974, in Michigan City, IN, she married William Hardesty who preceded her in death on December 28, 2006. She is survived by her three daughters, Kay Fillmore of LaPorte, IN, Debra Ron Linn of Woodstock, GA. Michelle Jon Ladwig of LaPorte, IN; two step-daughters, Linda James Lampert of MI, June Eugene Skibinski of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Garry Julie Ladwig of LaPorte, IN, Douglas Ladwig of Portage, IN; two step-sons, Charles Linda Hardesty of Michigan City, IN, William Ruth Hardesty of Michigan City, IN.; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Phyllis Peters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, January 21, 2010 1:00 pm, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday January 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Reshan, officiating. Interment will follow at the Posey Chapel Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
