Palmer B. Anderson, 98, of Farmland, formerly of N. Fail Rd. in LaPorte, IN, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on October 8, 2008. He was born March 16, 1910 in Lake Koshkonong, WI, the son of Albert and Betsy Halverson Anderson. Palmer began driving a truck in 1932 and was a pioneer to Teamsters Local Union 710 in Chicago. In 1954-55, he participated in the Illinois State Truck Rodeos. He retired in 1972. He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Del Anderson wife, Danita of Farmland; a daughter, Anita Wilson husband, Roger of Naples, FL; a brother, Alvin Anderson wife, Lena of Janesville, WI; a sister, Alice Johnson of Stoughton, WI; grandchildren, Tyra Wiatrak husband, Mike, Ty Wilson wife, Rebecca, Danielle Childress husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Brandon Wiatrak wife, Sandra, Dustin Wiatrak, Brittany Wiatrak, Erica Senter husband, Andy, Roger Anderson, Ross Shafer and Noel Childress; and one great great grandchild, Ava Wiatrak. He was preceded in death by his parents; a loving wife, of 67 years, Angeline Carlson Anderson; one sister, Eunice; three grandsons, Dray, Dayne and Dustin. A service to celebrate Palmer's life will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 13, 2008 at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Ave. LaPorte, IN. Burial will follow at Lamb's Chapel Cemetery of LaPorte. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-7 pm Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the funeral home. Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City is handling local arrangements.
