Mr. Owen L. Travis, age 94, of La Porte, Ind., died Friday afternoon, January 18, 2008, at his home in La Porte, Ind. He was born May 4, 1913 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Brook Travis and the late Edna Hay Travis. He has life in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Travis retired in 1968 after 25 years of service from the LaPorte Fire Department. He also owned Owen L. Travis Accountants. On March 7, 1947 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Phyllis Rose who survives. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Kay F. David Snow of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Jean G. Albin of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Max O. Barbara Travis of Bull Shoals, Ark; Ten grandchildren, David Travis, Mark Travis, Timothy Travis, Carmen Robbins, Linda Hall, Glenn Oman, Gregg Oman, Geoff Sellers, Joanna Cave, Jason Albin; Twenty One great-grandchildren; One great-great-grandchild; Three Sisters, Mrs. Louise Richard Ulam of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Elaine Prentiss of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Carol Robert Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his Parents, and Two Brothers, Harold Travis and Merlin "Mike" Travis. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, January 20, 2008, and 2:00 to 8:00 PM Monday January 21, 2008. Friend may call at the First United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2008, Rev. Douglas Hadley officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
