Orell Fortner

Orell M. Fortner, 87, of 8612 W. CR 125 S., LaPorte, IN., died Wednesday April 28, 2004 at 5:38 a.m. at her residence. She was born February 17, 1917, in Adamsville, TN, to Ivey and Ruby Mayfield Brasfield, and has lived in the LaPorte area for four years moving here from Benton Harbor, MI. where she was a homemaker. On July 8, 1933, in Tennessee, she married William T. Fortner, who preceded in death on August 7, 1982. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jerell Fortner; three sisters and one brother. Surviving are four daughters, Patricia Charles Puskac of LaPorte, IN., Ruby Del Walker of Tennessee, Sarah Fran Haukom of Minnesota, Charlotte Wilson of Illinois; one son, Jimmie Fortner of Illinois; thirty grandchildren; many great grandchildren, many great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday May 1, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev Noel C. Olse officiating. Friends may call Friday form 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. until the service. There will be a graveside service at the North Shore Memory Gardens, in Coloma, MI. at 12:30 p.m. Michigan Time.
