Opal Pierce

Mrs. Opal Tankersley Pierce, age 82, of La Porte, Ind., died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Decedent's Residence in La Porte, Ind. She was Born February 24, 1925 in Lawrence, TN. She was the daughter of the late Onnie Tankersley and the late Lella Hazelwood Tankersley. Mrs. Pierce moved to LaPorte in 1961, coming from Tennessee. On September 20, 1941 in Athens, Alabama, she was married to Joe T. Pierce, who preceded, June 15, 1976. Mrs. Pierce was a Homemaker and was a member of Church of Christ. She also Loved to grow flowers, gardening and yard work. She is survived by her Three Daughters, Mrs. Wanda Pete Elrod of Golden, Miss. Mrs. Brenda Scofield of La Porte, Ind. Mrs. Peggy Billy Lukac of La Porte, Ind. Two Sons, Mr. Joe Teresa Pierce of Valparaiso, Ind. Mr. Terry Stephanie Pierce of Beach Park, Ill. Mrs. Pierce has Ten grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2007. Visitation will also take place in Pulaski Tennessee, at Bennett-May Funeral Home, Friday 04/20/2007, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM and from 9:00 AM Saturday 04/21/2007 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Bennett-May Funeral Home in Pulaski, Tennessee, at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2007 , with Pastor Todd Kemp officiating.
