Olive Snyder

Mrs. Olive M. Sherriff Snyder, age 94, of La Porte, Ind., died 5:40 PM Monday, October 20, 2007, at Beverly LivingCenter -Fountainview in La Porte, Ind. She was born April 9, 1913 in Kalkaska, Michigan to the late James Sherriff and the late Maude Voice Sherriff. She has lived in LaPorte for 3 years coming from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mrs. Snyder was retired as a credit manager by Lakeside Medical Center of Detroit Michigan. She was the family Historian and taught genealogy for many years. She was a wonderful, caring, and loving Mother Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. On May 29, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan she married Wilbur W. Snyder who preceded in death on April 12, 1982. She is survived by her Three Daughters, Mrs. Lois Maxwell Wisner of Hudsonville, Mich., Mrs. Norma Larry Lubs of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Donna Robert Snyder of Three Rivers, Mich.; Two Step-daughters Mrs. Bonita Damer of East Jordan, Mich., Mrs. Beverly Sulak of East Jordan, Mich.; One Son Mr. Wesley Patricia Fleet of Indian River, Mich.; Five Step-son Mr. Wilbur Snyder of Mission Viejo, Calif., Mr. Barry Snyder of East Jordan, Mich., Mr. Donald Snyder of Boyne Falls, Mich., Mr. Jack Snyder of East Jordan, Mich., Mr. Jerry Snyder of East Jordan, Mich.; Fourteen grandchildren; Twenty Three great-grandchildren; and Two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Two Daughters, Betty Fleet, Sharon Fleet; Step-son Harold Snyder, and Step-Daughter Betty Snyder. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2007, Rev. Joseph Loftis officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery in East Jordan, Mich. at 3:00 PM EDT Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 907 Michigan Ave., LaPorte, IN. 46350.
