Norna Mccabe

Norna McCabe October 17, 1946-November 11, 2019 Norna Jean McCabe, 73, of South Bend, IN, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN where she was warmly cared for the last three years due to dementia. She was born October 17, 1946 in Parma, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Tracey) Riley. In her early years, Norna worked at Clark Equipment where she met the love of her life, Gary McCabe. Norna was a proud homemaker who always prioritized her family over everything. Her friends would say her family was her life. Some of her favorite activities included going for daily walks with her dogs, listening to talk radio, trips to Saint Joe, Michigan, camp fires, yardwork and baking a variety of her delicious, famous desserts. Norna was also an avid reader, known for her stylish attire, collector of carousel art and all things miniature. She is survived by her four daughters, Stephanie (Alan Kennedy) Stokosa; Amy (Chris Sehenuk) Westman; Kaley (Isaac) DeVries; Meredith McCabe; brother, Frank Riley; seven Grandchildren, Devan Stokosa, Ethan Kennedy, Harper DeVries, Carter DeVries, Aubrey DeVries, Sawyer DeVries, and Peyton DeVries. Norna was preceded in death by her loving husband Gary McCabe. Arrangements are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, December 15 from 11 am until 1 pm. A life celebration will be held Sunday, December 15 at 1 pm with Deacon Bob Bucheit officiating. Cremation has taken place.
