Mr. Norman Ralph Yeaney, age 79, of LaPorte, Ind., died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Beverly LivingCenter-LaPorte in LaPorte, Ind. He was born October 28, 1927, in Bryon, IN, to the late Robert Yeaney and the late Blanche Bunton Yeaney, also preceded in death was a brother, Mr. Robert Yeaney, his wife, Katherine Fuss Yeaney. Mr. Yeaney has lived all of his life in the LaPorte Area. On November 10, 1956 in LaPorte, IN, he was married to Katherine Fuss, who preceded October 28, 1991. Mr. Yeaney was employed by LaPorte Police Department as Police Captain, for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of LaPorte VFW, F.O.P., and American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte. Veteran of the US Army Corp. during WW II. He loved living by the lake, enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his Two Sons, Mr. Chris R. Deby Yeaney of La Porte, Ind, Mr. Stephen D. Eyvette Yeaney of La Porte, Ind, One Sister, Mrs. Margaret John Harold of LaPorte, Ind, Four grandchildren, Laura Yeaney, Matthew Yeaney, Zackary Yeaney, Andrew Yeaney, and Two great-grandchildren, Katheryn Yeaney, and Eyvette Yeaney. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 7, 2007, and from 9:00 AM Monday October 8, 2007 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, October 8, 2007 , with Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, Ind. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW and the American Legion of LaPorte. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association 9445 Delegates Row Indianapolis, IN 46240 or the American Cancer Society 601 West Edison St. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
