Norman C. Gloff January 22, 1943-January 29, 2018 Norman C. Gloff, 75, of Taft, Tennessee, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born January 22, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Charles A. Gloff and Eleanor M.(Koes) Gloff. Norman graduated from La Porte High School in 1961. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Navy as a corpsman and operating room technician from 1961-1965 during the Vietnam era. While in the military he started taking classes to obtain his degree as a registered professional nurse. He graduated with his nursing degree from Alexian Brothers Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, August 30, 1968. He then obtained his nursing licenses in not only Illinois, but in Indiana, Alabama, and Tennessee. He retired from La Porte Hospital in 1992 after 25 years as a registered nurse. Norman loved being a nurse, but more than anything, he loved his dogs. He is survived by his brother, Craig Gloff of La Porte, Indiana; two nephews, Kevin and Brandon Standefer of La Porte, Indiana; two cousins, Todd Gasaway and Randy Koes. Norman was preceded in death by both his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana. A life celebration will be held at Patton Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte County Animal Shelter, 2855 W. Ind. 2 LaPorte, Indiana 46350.
