Norma Strauss

Mrs. Norma Jean Strauss, age 81, of La Porte, Ind., died 2:30 PM Friday, May 4, 2007, at her residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 3, 1926 in Sullivan, Ind. to the late Harlan Hix and the late Blanche Dudley Hix. She has lived in the LaPorte area for 61 years coming from Sullivan, Ind. Mrs. Strauss was a homemaker. On August 11, 1946 in Russiaville, Ind. she married Edward K. Strauss who preceded in death June 28, 1999. She is also survived by One Son, Mr. Edward L. Pam Strauss of La Porte, Ind.; One Sister, Thelma Klement of LaPorte, Ind.; Three grandchildren, Edward M. Strauss, Joshua A. Strauss, Daniel C. Strauss, and One great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Three Sisters, Helen Ulrich, June Hix, Nina Ridge; and Two Brothers, Junior Hix and Donald Hix. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2007and 8:00 AM Monday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Monday, May 7, 2007, Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Burial of Ashes will be held at a later date at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
