Norma Petrie

Mrs. Norma Jean Petrie, age 80, of La Porte, Ind., died 11:30 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 30, 1927 in Danville, ILL. to the late Norman Deckard and the late Mable Pashe Deckard. She has been living in the LaPorte area for 55 years. Mrs. Petrie was employed by House of Fara as a finisher for 11 years retiring in 1989. She was also a Co-owner and manager of Smitty's Restaurant for 8 years. On July 1, 1952 in Ruleville, Miss. she married Arch F. Petrie who preceded in death April 20, 2003. She is survived by Two Daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Charles Dadlow of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Lucille M. Boes of La Porte, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Michael Cathy Petrie of La Porte, Ind., Mr. James E. Marilyn Surgeon of La Porte, Ind.; Fifteen grandchildren; One Sister, Mrs. Mary Phillips of Indianapolis, Ind.; and One Brother, Mr. Donald W. Deckard of Lady Lake, Fla. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A graveside service and interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery at 10:45 AM Saturday, April 28, 2007, Rev. Douglas Hadley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, P.O.
