Norma Friend

Norma J. Friend August 2, 1930-August 19, 2018 Norma J. Friend, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Settlers Place in La Porte, Indiana. She was born August 2, 1930 in La Crosse, Indiana, the daughter of John Cole and Honnie (Menne) Cole. Norma retired after thirty-two years as an office clerk for Indiana Department of Transportation. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of La Porte. Norma was past president of the Woman's Republican Club. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, and word search puzzles. In October of 1954, in La Porte, Indiana , she married Richard Friend who preceded her in death June 23, 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Mark) Kline of La Porte, IN; son, Richard Friend of Berne, IN; grandchild, Megan Zoda of Berne, IN; four step grandchilds, Jason Kline, Erik Kline, Patrick Kline, Jamieleigh (Jason) Borolov; three great grandchildren, Brayden Zoda, Braxtyn Zoda, Krew Hough; fourteen step great grandchildren, Kenneth, Erin, Ethan, Gavin, Tyler, Abby, Devon, Aayla, Terry Mark, Xavier, Tessa, Evan, Cadence, Bentley; Sister, Jonadeane Azlin of Modesto, CA. Norma was preceded in death by both her parents and sister, Louise Cramer. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven Kline officiating.
