Norma Caler

Norma Jean Caler July 3, 1935-Nov. 18, 2016 Norma Jean Caler, age 81, of La Porte, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at the Rosewood Rehabilitation and Care Center in Converse, Texas. Norma was born July 3, 1935, in La Porte, Indiana, to Richard and Alene Marhanka. She is survived by her two daughters: Peggy Caler of Grundy, Virginia, and Robyn (Danny) Armstrong of Live Oak, Texas, her four sons: Frank (Coreta) Caler of Converse, Texas, Mark Caler of Boise, Idaho, Steve (Telsia) Caler of Collinsville, Illinois, and Jim (Mary Ann) Caler of Fox Point, Wisconsin, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce Marhanka of Kingsbury, Indiana and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Nancy Kemper. Norma was a faithful and active member of Agape Christian Church and volunteered at Handley Elementary School. She enjoyed painting ceramics and drawing; she also loved gardening and collecting angels and dolls through the years. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday April 22, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
