Nora Dickey

Mrs. Nora "Katie" Dickey, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday March 28, 2009 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born December 21, 1926 in Matoon, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene Kuhn and Ruth Wellbaum Kuhn. Nora worked as a Nursing Assistant for Woodview Nursing Home. She was an avid Chicago Cub's fan and she loved animals. On April 3, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, she married Leroy E. Dickey who preceded in death Jan. 23, 2003. She is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Gracie Dickey of La Porte, IN, Gregory A. Dickey of Michigan City, IN, two daughters, Deanna R. Mitchell of Robinson, IL, Darlene K. Grant McDonald of Valparaiso, IN, ten grandchildren, Jeff West, Craig West, Juli Palmer, Josh Dickey, Angela York, Sunny Bradbury, Brandon Bradbury, Bryce Bradbury, Jonathan McDonald, Ian McDonald, and twenty-one great grandchildren. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy E. Dickey, father, Eugene Kuhn, mother, Ruth Kuhn, brother, George Bouck, and sister, Pauline House. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, March 31, 2009 12:00 pm until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., March 31, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Springville Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
