Nicholas Bello

Mr. Nicholas A. Bello, age 77, of La Porte, Ind., died 5:56 AM Sunday, August 31, 2008, at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born June 17, 1931 in Centenary, Ind. to the late John Bello and the late Elizabeth Dal Ponte Bello. He has lived in La Porte since 1966 coming from Clinton, Ind. Mr. Bello was a Carpenter for the Carpenter's Union Local #1485 of La Porte. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. and a member of the American Legion Post #83 of La Porte. He liked building things and enjoyed Bowling, Baseball especially the Chicago Cubs, Golf and the Beachwood Men's Club. On February 17, 1951 in Crown Point, Ind. he married Miriam Deeds who survives. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. Nikki John Zolman of La Porte, Ind.; Son, Mr. John Donna Bello of La Porte, Ind.; Four Grandchildren, Kelly Annelise Bello, Nicholas Corinda Bello, Sunni John Kegebein, Christine Zolman; Seven great-grandchildren; Two Sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Meneghini of Terre Haute, Ind. and Mrs. Katherine Les Schmeling of Phelan, California, He is preceded in death by Two Brothers, John Bonato, Victor Bonato; and Two sisters, Pauline DalSasso and Ann Secoy. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2008 and from 10:00 AM Thursday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 4, 2008, Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Interment will be at Pinhook Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
