Nathan Marsh

Mr. Nathan R. Marsh, 98, of 2002 Andrew Ave., LaPorte, IN., passed away Friday, May 14, 2004, at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, IN. He was a life-long resident of the LaPorte area. He was born on July 1, 1905, in Noble Township, IN., to Richard Marsh and Anna Roberts Marsh. Mr. Marsh?s first job was with the Pharmacy in the old Rumley Hotel building. He retired after 40 years with NIPSCO as Superintendent of coal handling. He was a member of NIPSCO Forum Club, Excelsior Lodge #41 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite. On June 25, 1930, in LaPorte, IN., he married the ?love of his life? Hilda Hiigli, who died March 10, 2000. Soon after their marriage the new Mr. & Mrs. Marsh purchased a home at 1711 Monroe St. LaPorte, IN, where they resided until recently. Mr. Marsh leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hilda Marsh and one sister- Elizabeth McClelland. A funeral service will be held Monday May 17, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Haverstock Funeral Home with the Rev. Jessica S. Young Brust officiating. Friends may call at Haverstock Funeral Home on Monday May 17, 2004 from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM, until the time of the service.
