Ms. Shirley Bealor

Mrs. Shirley J. Bealor, 79, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born March 15, 1934 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Clayton Downs and Clara (Stupeck) Downs. Shirley had worked for LaPorte Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Michigan City, IN. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing pogo, emailing friends and doing geneology. Shirley also enjoyed softball games and enjoyed listening to the police scanner. She is survived by her ex-husband - Dean "Richard" Bealor; 2 sons - Kevin (Betsy) Bealor of New Carlisle, IN, Dan (Tammy) Bealor of La Porte, IN; daughter - Michelle Bealor of La Porte, IN; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brother - Ronald Downs of CO; nephew - David Downs of Michigan City, IN, and niece - Diane Downs of Michigan City, IN. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. son, Randy Downs, and an infant brother, Davey Lee Downs. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 10, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday May 10, 2013 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Cremation will take place.
