Mr. Walter Butler

Mr. Walter L. "Baldy" Butler, 72, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away Friday January 20, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He found peace after a courageous battle with chronic illness. He was born September 13, 1939 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, the son of Glen Butler and Vera (Stoner) Butler. He has lived in the Rolling Prairie area all of his life. Walter worked as an Electrician for I.B.E.W. local 531. He was a 1958 Graduate and class president of Rolling Prairie High School. He was a former Cub Scout Leader and Boy Scout Master for Rolling Prairie Troops. On July 11, 1959, in Rolling Prairie, he married Nancy Owens Butler who survives. He is also survived by his daughter - Peggy (William) Knoll of Oklahoma City, OK; son - Tom (Kelly) Butler of Bonney Lake, WA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters - Delores Ward, Hope Harris; and a brother - Floyd Dwaine Butler. Walter was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lily Good, and Helen Pease, and 2 brothers, Albert Butler, and Raymond Butler. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 10:00 am until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 11:00 am with Damas Manderson officiating.
