Mr. Terry Herring

Terry Lee Herring , 59, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Michigan City, IN. He was born April 18, 1952 in Porter Co, Indiana, the son of Jane Herring and foster son of Richard Griffin and Shirley Griffin. He has lived in the La Porte area for 49 years with his foster family. Terry worked in the laundry department for St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1992. He attended the Springville Free Methodist Church and loved to take care of his yard and garden. He is survived by his foster mother - Shirley Griffin of La Porte, IN; numerous foster brothers and sisters; aunt - Patty (James) Moody of Kouts, IN, and numerous nieces and cousins. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, and foster father. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from.10:00 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Luke Bedtelyon, officiating. Interment will follow at the Springville Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springville Free Methodist Church LaPorte, IN 46350.
