Mrs. Virginia Gemberling

Virginia Gemberling June 8, 1926-July 29, 2014 Mrs.Virginia Gemberling, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday July 29, 2014 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born June 8, 1926 in LaPorte County, Indiana, the daughter of John Ray Amor and Mary Louise (Bealor) Amor. Virginia was a member of Salem Chapel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Kingsbury High School. Virginia loved to do quilting. On March 16, 1946 in LaPorte, Indiana, she married James J. Gemberling, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2014. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry (Travis) Shipley of La Porte, IN, Shurla E. (David) Clark of St. Augustine, FL; son, Ed (Gail) Gemberling of La Porte, IN; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Marjorie Scarborough of Union Mills, IN. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Terry J. Gemberling, grandchild, Dana Carson, three brothers, Keith Amor, Russell Amor, and Alan Amor and one sister, Elverta Coyer. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, August 4, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 10:00 am with Rev. Robert Raschka officiating.
