Mrs. Virginia Foor

Virginia M. Foor, 89, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday May 1, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born July 20, 1921 in Porter Co., Indiana, the daughter of Lewis Esslinger and Helena (Weinrich) Esslinger. Virginia retired from Howmet Corp. She was a member of Hanna United Methodist Church and the senior bowling league for many years. On August 12, 1939, in LaPorte, IN, she married Russell Foor who preceded her in death November 26, 1977. She is survived by her son - Ronald Foor of La Porte, IN; daughter - Connie (Sherman) Lute of Hanna, IN; three grandchildren - Rodney (Jennifer) Lute of Golden Valley, MN, Lisa (Troy) Berndt of Grovertown, IN, Chad Foor of Chicago, IL, and two great-grandchildren - Austin Lute, and Eric Lute; brother-in-law - Robert Wright of Hanna, IN; sister-in-law - Jean Beach of New Buffalo, MI; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great nephews, and cousins. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, James R. Foor, brother, Melvin Esslinger, three sisters, Dorothy Heminger, Lois Wright, and Marjorie Kepcha. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, May 9, 2011 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 10:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Beall officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, IN.
