Mrs. Thelma Klement

Thelma P. Klement , 84, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday February 26, 2012 at her home. She was born February 9, 1928 in Sullivan, Indiana, the daughter of Harlan Hix and Blanche (Dudley) Hix. Thelma worked ten years for Howmet Corp., retiring in 1992; she also worked at American Rubber and Stella Rema. She was a member of First Church of God, American Legion Post #83, and a Senior Bowling League. Thelma enjoyed dancing and bowling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On May 20, 1946, in LaPorte, IN, she married Charles Klement who preceded her in death March 28, 1989. She is survived by her 3 sons - Randy (Darlene) Klement of La Porte, IN, Roger Klement of La Porte, IN, Doug Klement of La Porte, IN; daughter - Judy (Norm) Van Sickle of La Porte, IN; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Jean Strauss, Helen Ulrich, June Hix, Nina Ridge, two brothers, Jr and Don Hix. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 11:00 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday February 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Cremation will take place.
