Mrs. Shirley Summerville

Shirley M. Summerville, 79, of Mayfield, Kentucky, died Monday February 27, 2012. She had been living in Mayfield, Kentucky for 12 years, coming from LaPorte, Indiana. She was born January 10, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Jerry Vardaman and Mildred (Hatfield) Vardaman. Shirley was a great homemaker and a rock to her family. She was married to Keith Summerville who survives. She is also survived by her 2 brothers - James Vardaman of La Porte, IN, Robert (Pauline) Vardaman, Sr. of Rochester, IN; several nieces and nephews; one grandaughter; and one great-grandson - Charles Dalton. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Culvahouse, two sisters, Mary Roach, Darlene Kuta, brother, Ross Vardaman. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, March 2, 2012 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday March 2, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ransom Ebersole officiating. Cremation will take place.
