Mrs. Shirley Naegele

Mrs. Shirley C. Naegele, 80, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday January 14, 2012 at her home. She was born June 7, 1931 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Stewart I. Smith and Maude Evelyn (Hopkins) Smith. Shirley was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She liked doing puzzles, loved her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren. On September 5, 1959, in La Porte, IN, she married James Naegele who survives. She is also survived by her son - Larry A. Sacks of WI; daughter - Cheryl K. Rutt of New Carlisle, IN; Step-daughter - Sharon (Larry) Mott of Ludington, MI; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a half-brother - David Smith of La Porte, IN. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, brother, and 2 stepbrothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. Private family services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday January 18, 2012 with Pastor Jack M. Cox officiating.
