Mrs Sherry Arndt

Mrs. Sherry Lee Arndt, 73, of La Porte, IN, died Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Indiana University Health, La Porte Hospital. She was born January 28, 1938 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Wilbert Hannemann and June (Cook) Hannemann. Sherry worked at American Rubber for 17 years and retired from Howmet Corp. after 27 years of service. She was a member of American Legion Aux. and the Fraternal Order of Eagles both of La Porte. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, game shows, yard work, camping and playing bingo. On December 17, 1955, in La Porte, IN, she married Junior R. Arndt who preceded in death November 18, 2004. She is survived by her 2 sons - Rick Arndt of La Porte, David (Nancy) Arndt of Indianapolis, IN; daughter - Christine (Charlie) Maslankowski of Yorktown, VA; 2 Grandchildren - Taylor Arndt and Morgan Arndt both of La Porte; 4 sisters - Linda Spencer of Koontz Lake, IN, Karen Nave of South Bend, IN, Jeri (Ted) Zabel of Hanna, IN, and Wanda Carolyn (Skip) Meinberg of Guntersville, AL. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Sonny Hannemann. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind.
