Mrs. Sara Clindaniel

Sara Ann Clindaniel August 19, 1935-March 12, 2012 Sara Ann Clindaniel, 76, of Hanna, Indiana, died Monday March 12, 2012 at her home. She was born August 19, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of DeVere W. Thompson, Sr. and Gladys (Garwood) Thompson. Sara graduated from Westville High School in 1953 and was a 4-H Club member. She was a home beautician for twenty-five years and also worked ten years for TP Orthodontics, retiring in 1993. Sara was a member of Hanna United Methodist Church. She was a grandmother of 12 and was their biggest sports fan. Sara enjoyed camping and traveling with her loving husband Bub her first and last love. Bub and Sara also enjoyed tailgating at home Notre Dame football games. She also enjoyed spending time with the Neighborhood Club. On March 6, 1954, in Union Mills, IN, she married Harold W. Clindaniel, Jr. who preceded her in death on December 9, 1994. She is survived by her 3 sons - Mark Scott (Pamela) Clindaniel of Hanna, IN, Michael Lee (Tina) Clindaniel of Kouts, IN, Monte Noel (Paula) Clindaniel of Hanna, IN; one daughter - Michelle Ann (James) Mareska of Wanatah, IN; 12 Grandchildren - Jocelynn, Marcus, Devon, Abbigail, Marshall, Shelby, Kaylee, Adam, and Jacob Clindaniel, Sarah, Cassandra, and Ashley Mareska; 3 sisters - Gladys (George) Nehl of Union Mills, IN, Leota (Wilbur) Dadlow of La Porte, IN, Mary Sue (Don - deceased) Link of Winamac, IN; 2 brothers - Calvin (Marge) Thompson of La Porte, IN, George (Joyce) Thompson of La Porte, IN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law - Ron and Carol Clindaniel of La Porte, IN. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, DeVere Thompson, Jr. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, March 16, 2012 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday March 16, 2012 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Door Village Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
