Sandra S. Witek November 29, 1947-March 6, 2013 Mrs. Sandra S. Witek, 65, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday March 6, 2013. She was born November 29, 1947 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Jake Sturgill and Ina Mae (Dyer) Sturgill. Sandra worked as a nurse for Countryside Nursing Home, retiring in 2010. Sandy was a graduate of LaPorte High School of 1966, Michigan City Cosmetology and Ivy Tech Nursing School. She enjoyed being involved in the Valparaiso Corvette Club. Sandy liked doing crafts and decorating her home with seasonal displays. She also enjoyed the many vacations taken in the West and Southwestern states. On January 13, 2001, in Michigan City, IN, she married Gene Witek who survives. She is also survived by her mother, Ina Sturgill of LaPorte, IN.; daughter - Megan McCuaig of Indianapolis, IN; son - Robert "BJ" (Rebecca) McCuaig of Carmel, IN; two sisters - Sharron Schad of La Porte, IN, Shelley (Clifford) DeGraff of La Porte, IN; one brother - Bruce (Kerri) Strugill of Fairview, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her father. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, March 8, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday March 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Carl Galloway, and Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Cremation will take place.
