Mrs. Rita Ellis

Rita M. Ellis March 29, 1931-March 22, 2016 Mrs. Rita M. Ellis , 84, of Hamlet, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born March 29, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Omer L. Pratt and Venus M. (Engel) Pratt. On August 26, 1949, in Tracy United Methodist Church, she married Dale E. Ellis who preceded in death July 15, 2014. She worked as a Vice President and Cashier of Wheaton National Bank in Illinois. After retirement, Rita and Dale opened Ellis Ceramic Supply in Hamlet. She was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church. She is survived by her five sons, David D. Ellis, Donald E. Ellis, Daniel R. Ellis, William L. Ellis, Scott A. Ellis; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth L. Pratt and sister, Almeda J. Engelbrecht. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2016, from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm & Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday March 26, 2016 at 10:00 am with Pastor Ann Dill officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tracy United Methodist Church .
